PDX Panel Replacement
Contractor: Kodiak Pacific
We were asked by Kodiak Pacific to sawcut 22” thick concrete panels for them to remove. Due to the time constraints some days they would require three saw operators and three vacuum operators (to haul the slurry off site). No overcutting was a requirement around the perimeter of the area they were removing. We were able to clip the 22” thick concrete corners with our chainsaw to achieve this.
Bonneville Ambursen Section Seismic Mitigation
Contractor: Wildish Building Company
Wildish Building Company was contracted by the Corp of Engineers to fill the ambursen section of the Old Lock with thousands of yards of concrete to mitigate the risk of failure from an earthquake. Wildish hired us to sawcut the material access openings on top of section. The openings were 4’ x 6’ and 24” thick. To prevent any overcutting we wire sawed the opening with an electric wire saw, because we were in an environmentally safe area. The CORP was pleased with very pleased with the electric saw as opposed to our hydraulic.
Swan Island Project
Contractor: Stellar J
Our Electric Wire Saw was again able to prove useful when Stellar J hired us to sawcut a 16’wide x 9’tall opening in a concrete wall that ranged in thickness from 4-6’. Being over 50’ below grade in the pump station, hydraulics would’ve posed a problem. We were able to plug into a power source less than 5’ away allowed us to sawcut the opening into manageable size pieces for Stellar J to crane out.
